At the University of Niagara Falls Canada, all International Student Advisors are licensed immigration professionals (RCIC or RISIA). They are here to provide general guidance, resources, and support to help you navigate your journey at UNF.
What ISAs can help you with
Immigration guidance
- Study permit extensions
- Post-graduation work permit (PGWP) applications
- Temporary resident visas (TRV) and electronic travel authorizations (eTAs)
- Family applications within Canada (e.g., spousal open work permits)
- Correction of errors on IRCC-issued documents
Understanding work permissions
- Eligibility and conditions for on-campus and off-campus work, co-op work, work after graduation, etc.
Transitioning to university life

Our ISA team is here to support you throughout your time as an international student, from your first steps on campus to graduation and beyond. We offer information sessions, workshops, virtual or in-person appointments, and support via email for immigration-related questions.

If you have an urgent immigration-related question, please visit the Student Success Hub in-person. It is located on the first floor of the UNF Campus. Ask to speak with an International Student Advisor.
What ISAs cannot assist with
- Initial study permit applications
- Submission of any type of immigration application
- Transfer credit or advanced standing inquiries
- Financial aid matters (e.g., scholarships, tax-related questions)
- Co-op placement or career service support
- Academic advising
- Travelling to another country
