Community Engagement
Connected to our community
We are committed to building strong connections between our university and the Niagara community, understanding these connections are essential to our shared growth and success.
Through Community Engagement, we look forward to bridging the gap between academic expertise and real-world needs, creating opportunities for us to create meaningful impact.
UNF in the community

Help us name the fox!
The University of Niagara Falls Canada will soon introduce its new official mascot, a bold and spirited fox.
Before the mascot can be introduced to everyone, it needs the perfect name!
We’re calling on students, faculty, and staff to help us #NameTheFox. The Mascot Naming Contest starts at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23 and ends at noon on Friday, May 2, 2025.
All university community members are encouraged to submit their best name ideas. You can win a UNF Foxes jersey (valued at $99 + tax) and get recognized during a special mascot reveal event. Read the full contest rules here.
Once the submission period closes, a shortlist of names will be shared for a campus-wide vote. Think you have a great suggestion? Enter the contest using our online submission form before the deadline.

Connect with our students
Do you have job or volunteer opportunities that you think would be perfect for our students? We are happy to connect you.
We understand that a great university experience extends beyond the classroom and engaging with the community is a great way for students to enhance their time here at UNF.
