Awards for international students
University of Niagara Falls Canada offers a range of entrance awards designed to support international students. These awards help recognize achievement while reducing the financial barriers to study. It is part of the more than $15 million in scholarships and awards the Office of the Registrar has dedicated to students in 2025.
Please note that the awards published below are for the 2025 academic year.
Entrance awards
We provide entrance awards to newly admitted students based on eligibility. The outlined criteria apply to all entrance awards. Individual awards also have specific additional criteria and requirements.
- Students may only receive one entrance award per program.
- If eligible for multiple entrance awards, you will only receive the award with the highest value.
- If eligible for multiple entrance awards, you will only receive the award with the highest value.
- Qualification for entrance awards will be determined by type of student fees paid.
- Students who are citizens or permanent residents of Canada are eligible for the Canada-based student entrance awards.
- Students paying international student fees are eligible for international student entrance awards.
- All students are eligible for the Academic Achievement Entrance Award.
- Students who are citizens or permanent residents of Canada are eligible for the Canada-based student entrance awards.
- All awards are disbursed as a tuition credit. Award money cannot be used for any other purpose.
- Additional requirements and documents may be required for certain awards.
Entrance awards are bestowed automatically.
No additional application is required as these awards will be granted at the point of admission when eligibility criteria are met. Please review awards terms and conditions for additional details.
Academic scholarships
Academic performance scholarships serve as a dual catalyst for universities, fostering a culture of excellence by incentivizing sustained scholastic achievement, while also affirming to students that their hard work and dedication are valued, acknowledged, and instrumental in shaping a community committed to academic success. At UNF – your best is rewarded!
These scholarships are available to returning students, starting in Term 2 of their program, and are combinable with other institutional scholarships or awards.
Students are only eligible for one academic award per enrolment term.
The following awards are reviewed and awarded through an application process (i.e. non-automatically).
These awards may be limited. Eligibility does not guarantee approval.
Legacy awards
These legacy entrance awards were provided to students who started their studies in an undergraduate or graduate program at UNF on or before Summer Term (July) 2025. The outlined criteria were applicable to all entrance awards, with each individual award also having specific additional criteria and requirements.

- Qualification for regional and domestic awards will be determined by type of student fees paid.
- Students paying international student fees are eligible for international student entrance awards.
- Students paying domestic student fees are eligible for Canada-based student entrance awards.
- All students are eligible for the Academic Achievement Entrance Award.
- Students paying international student fees are eligible for international student entrance awards.
