Morning ceremony will also include formal installation of a new president and vice-chancellor
University of Niagara Falls Canada is counting down to a landmark moment in its history: the university’s very first Convocation, set to take place next week.
More than 900 graduates will walk across the stage Thursday, May 21, with ceremonies scheduled for both the morning and afternoon. The milestone marks the first time UNF will formally confer degrees upon its students in the tradition of convocation.
Taking place at the Niagara Falls Convention Centre, 6815 Stanley Ave., graduates from the Master of Arts in Digital Media and Global Communications, Master of Data Analytics, and Master of Management programs will be celebrated by their families, university faculty, and staff.
The morning ceremony will carry additional significance, serving as the occasion for the formal installation of Professor David Gray as UNF’s President and Vice-Chancellor.
While his appointment was announced by the university’s Board of Governors last September, Gray will be formally invested with the office before an audience of graduates, faculty, staff, and guests during the inaugural Convocation.
“This is a truly historic day for our entire university community,” said Gray. “We are celebrating not only the achievements of our first graduates, but the continued growth and future of University of Niagara Falls Canada.”
Those unable to attend Convocation in person will be able to watch both ceremonies through the livestream on UNF’s YouTube channel.

The ceremonies will be approximately two hours in length. Following each ceremony, graduates and their guests will be invited to socialize in the post-ceremony reception area where there will be photo opportunities.
