PARTNERSHIPSUniversity of Niagara Falls Canada, UNESCO Center for Peace sign MoU to enhance student experience
Potential initiatives include summer programs, joint events, and training opportunities
Enhancing educational experiences for students is at the heart of a new agreement recently signed between University of Niagara Falls Canada and the UNESCO Center for Peace.
Formally signed at UNF’s downtown Niagara Falls campus on March 24, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) establishes a cooperative framework to promote educational collaboration between the two organizations.
Signing on behalf of the UNESCO Center for Peace was Executive Director Guy Djoken, who also serves as CEO and President of the U.S. Federation of UN Clubs, Centres, and Associations. He was joined by Diana Mockute, Chief Partnership Officer at UNF.
“This collaboration opens the door to a range of meaningful initiatives, including summer programs, joint events, training opportunities, and other innovative projects designed to empower students and foster global citizenship,” said Mockute. “We look forward to the opportunities this partnership will create and the positive impact it will have on our students and beyond.”
Founded in 2004, the UNESCO Center for Peace is a non-profit organization based in Maryland, U.S. It promotes the ideals of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, with a focus on youth, community projects, and international cooperation.

During his visit, Djoken also toured the campus, met with members of the university’s senior leadership team, and connected with UNF’s student community. This partnership reflects UNF’s commitment to creating an inclusive, globally minded learning environment.
