Downtown celebration features family activities, local vendors, and live entertainment
The University of Niagara Falls Canada is inviting the community to celebrate the season at its Fall Festival this week.
Taking place Thursday, Oct. 2 in Centennial Square, next to UNF’s downtown campus, this free, family-friendly event offers a perfect opportunity for the community to celebrate the autumn season while discovering more about the university and its connections to the city it calls home.
“We’re thrilled to open our doors and invite everyone to join us for this wonderful celebration,” said Felicia Werner, Executive Director of Community Engagement for UNF. “The Fall Festival is all about bringing people together, showcasing the great energy of our campus, and creating lasting memories as we welcome the beauty of autumn.”
The festival runs from 3 – 7 p.m. and will feature an array of activities designed to delight visitors of all ages. Families can enjoy an inflatable obstacle course, lawn games, a Kids Zone with crafts and activities, and live entertainment. Get something to eat at the food truck and Beaver Tails booth while a DJ provides the soundtrack to the festivities.
Attendees will also have the chance to explore information booths highlighting university programs, including the three recently announced graduate programs launching in 2026, as well as learn more about student organizations and community partnerships. The UNF Fall Festival is free and open to the public.
“This event really exemplifies our commitment to being an engaged and accessible institution,” said David Gray, President and Vice-Chancellor at UNF. “Whether you’re a prospective student, a long-time resident, or just looking for a fun day out with the family, there’s something for everyone at the UNF Fall Festival.”
The event is being hosted in partnership with the Niagara Falls Innovation Hub and support from sponsors Tripshepherd Niagara Falls and belairdirect. There will be an afterparty, starting at 7 p.m., at Camp Cataract on Queen Street.
This festival wraps up two weeks of activities welcoming students back to campus for the Fall Term. New Student Orientation was held last week, ahead of the first day of classes on Sept. 29.
