University of Niagara Falls Canada has signed a trilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore education collaboration in Ethiopia.

In signing the agreement, UNF has partnered with Ministry of Women and Social Affairs, Ethiopia, and ED Connect Ethiopia, a nationally driven digital platform designed to connect Ethiopian youth with educational opportunities and global universities.

The agreement establishes a cooperative framework and promotes educational collaboration between the three parties, supporting short-term training programs and educational capacity-building initiatives aimed at strengthening Ethiopia’s social sector.

The signing ceremony was hosted by Her Excellency Ergoge Tesfaye, Minister of Women and Social Affairs, who welcomed David Gray, President and Vice-Chancellor at University of Niagara Falls Canada, and Diana Mockute, Chief Partnership Officer at GUS North America.

“Today’s agreement reflects our shared belief that education thrives through collaboration that crosses borders and sectors. By bringing together our university, our partners in the Ethiopian ministry, and an innovative digital learning platform, we are opening the door to new opportunities for students, educators, and communities,” said Gray, who signed the MoU during a recent trip to Ethiopia. “This Memorandum of Understanding represents an important first step as we explore meaningful ways to expand access to high-quality learning, encourage knowledge exchange, and build lasting partnerships that benefit learners in both Ethiopia and Canada.”

Agreements like this reflects UNF’s commitment to advancing international academic collaboration, professional development, and workforce growth.
