Heba El-Kamshoushy
Heba El-Kamshoushy is an assistant professor in the University of Niagara Falls Canada’s Master of Arts in Digital Media and Global Communications program. She is a dedicated academic and design professional, with two decades of experience teaching design-based courses at both the undergraduate and post-graduate levels.
Heba holds a PhD in Graphic Design and Communication, a Master of Arts in Graphic Design and Communication, and a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design and Communication from Alexandria University. She specializes in graphic communication, user interaction (UI) and user experience (UX) design, and digital media.
Throughout her academic career, she has supervised graduate and doctoral research, contributed to curriculum development, and played a key role in quality assurance and program enhancement. Additionally, she worked as a visiting professor at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport, where she taught in the Media program.
Alongside her academic career, Heba has extensive practical experience in the design industry as a graphic and visual designer. She has worked on branding, wayfinding, digital media, and visual communication projects, collaborating with organizations to develop strategic and impactful visual narratives.
Heba also has an extensive publication record. Her research interests include visual design, wayfinding, Egyptology, and the integration of emerging technologies in design. Her publications explore topics such as the graphical analysis of historical sites, the use of virtual reality in reconstructing and recolouring Pharaonic monuments, and the development of modern visual identities inspired by ancient Egyptian art.
Beyond teaching and research, she has served as a senior reviewer for academic forums, contributed to faculty development, and led curriculum innovations to align academic programs with evolving industry standards.
