Hamed Afshari

Hamed Afshari’s academic background and expertise span data science and analytics, control and estimation theory, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. He earned his PhD in Engineering from McMaster University in 2014, receiving several awards and scholarships, including the Ontario Graduate Scholarship and the McMaster Prestige Award.

He has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences. Since 2018, he has worked as a data scientist at multiple companies, focusing on anomaly detection, classification and clustering, deep learning, and business analytics. He has also served as a sessional lecturer since 2016, teaching courses in machine learning and artificial intelligence, data analytics, business intelligence, and control theory.
