The University of Niagara Falls Canada (UNF) has officially opened the UNF Student Commons – a space dedicated to supporting students’ academic, social, and personal well-being.
Located across from UNF’s main campus on Queen Street, the new facility acts as a centralized location for students to access key resources while strengthening UNF’s presence in downtown Niagara Falls. Hours of operation will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Designed with students in mind, the space offers a place to collaborate, seek support, and simply unwind. It features a welcoming reception area, study spaces, a kitchen, and coffee vending machine, and provides access to UNF’s Health and Wellness, Career Services, Writing Centre, and Operations and Facilities teams. A boardroom and seminar room will also be available for staff and faculty to use.
"The opening of the UNF Student Commons reflects our commitment to putting students first," said David Gray, President and Vice-Chancellor of UNF. "This new space is more than a building, it’s a hub where students can access help, build connections, and make the most of their university experience."
Building on that commitment, Sam Edgar, Associate Director of Student Experience at UNF, emphasized the importance of creating a space that feels both inviting and functional.
"The UNF Student Commons creates a welcoming environment for students to enjoy," said Edgar. "Whether they’re here to study, connect with peers, or take a break, this space will offer everything they need to succeed." This latest development marks an exciting new chapter for campus life at the university, offering a versatile space where students can be at their best and enjoy a sense of community.
