CAMPUS NEWSUniversity of Niagara Falls Canada campus closing at noon due to deteriorating weather conditions
In-person afternoon classes, activities cancelled
Please be advised that, due to deteriorating weather conditions in Niagara Falls and the surrounding region, the University of Niagara Falls Canada campus will be closing at noon today, Monday, Jan. 19, and all in-person classes and activities will be cancelled.
This decision was made with student and employee safety in mind. It is imperative that UNF can operate the campus safely and that includes the ability for everyone to get to and from campus in a safe manner.
Environment Canada has issued a snow squall warning for the area and warns that people should prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. They suggest non-essential travel and outdoor activities should be avoided.
While employees will be asked to work remotely, in-person classes and activities on campus have been cancelled. Students should check Cascade for updates from their professors.
The university will continue to monitor conditions overnight, and any decisions regarding classes on Tuesday will be communicated by 6:30 a.m. through email, and UNF’s website and official social media channels.
